The Crusades (Paramount, 1935), Travis Banton Pair of Katherine DeMille "Alice of France" Costume Sketches. Vintage pair of costume sketches by Travis Banton including (1) "Council of Kings" costume sketch rendered in watercolor and graphite on heavyweight paper measuring 14.25" x 20" and (1) "Windsor Castle Courtyard" costume sketch rendered in watercolor, gouache, and graphite measuring 14.25" x 22". Annotations written in graphite by the artist appear on both sketches. The information includes actress Katherine DeMille's name, the scene the costume appears in, and Banton's signature. Cecil B. DeMille has also signed each sketch. On the verso of both is production information labeling the estimated price list for the costume components, the date, and DeMille's initials of approval. Artworks exhibit production wear, toning, staining, and minor corner wear. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
