The Knack . . . But the Little Girls Understand CRIA Platinum Sales Award (Capitol, 1980). An award for the follow-up to the massive Get the Knack, . . . But the Little Girls Understand garnered gold status in the United States and platinum in Canada, which denotes 100,000 units sold. This award was for Bruce Gary, who passed away in 2006. Gary is the best-known drummer of the group, especially for his tom and snare pattern on "My Sharona." According to the plaque at the bottom of the award, "Presented to / Bruce Gary / to commemorate the sale of over 100,000 units of the / Capitol / album / 'But the Little Girls Understand' / May 1980."
