Description
"Red-Eye" Cylon Centurion Helmet from Battlestar Galactica, Season 1, Episode 6: "The Lost Warrior" (ABC TV, 1978-1979). "Red-Eye" was the former Cylon Centurion that went rogue to become the laser-toting henchman for the town bully, Lacerta, on the planet Equellus. The helmet is constructed of vacuum-formed plastic shell with silver metallized surface and silver foil tape details. Expertly painted matte black in eye port and back panels and gunmetal gray at grill. This particular helmet was made to appear battle-worn with bullet dings, sculptural dents, overall distress and burn marks. The dent in the front of the helmet screen matches (in the storyline, the damage occurred prior to the episode). Interior is handwritten, "3#" and retains mounting remnants for foam lining no longer present. The iconic helmet measures 12" x 12" x 9.5". Exhibiting age, production wear and some scratching and rubbing, mostly attributed to intentional distress. In vintage Very Good condition. Accompanied by a LOA from renowned Hollywood collector Fuller French. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.Auction Info
