Description

Titanic (TCF, 1997), Leonardo DiCaprio "Jack Dawson" Tuxedo Shoes. Original pair of custom-designed patent leather and suede tuxedo shoes with wooden soles and six eyelets, created for Leonardo DiCaprio by noted shoemaker Perry Ercolino. Designed in an authentic turn-of-the-century style, the shoes reflect the elegant formalwear of the Edwardian era, with a combination of high-gloss black patent leather and matte suede panels. These are the shoes Jack Dawson (DiCaprio) wears when he dresses up "like a shiny penny" for dinner with Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) and her high-society companions. Each shoe features an internal bias label reading "Leonardo DiCaprio" in black marker, and the left sole is inscribed "Jack's Tux High Burnside - Also in Brown." Also includes 1-pair of original 3-piece wooden shoe trees, custom-fitted to preserve their shape. Titanic launched both DiCaprio and Winslet into international superstardom and both would go on to become two of the most successful and acclaimed actors of their generation. In the film, he wears shoes like these as he dances with Rose in the lively steerage-class celebration-one of the film's most iconic sequences. Shoes exhibit light production wear including wear and handling to the shoe trees. From the personal collection of Perry Ercolino. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
