Doraemon (TV Asahi, 1979), "Doraemon" and "Nobita" Production Cel with Painted Background. Original hand-painted production 2 cel set-up including (1) 10.5" x 9" cel marked "24 D6" on the top right corner featuring the titular robot cat, Doraemon, and (1) 10.5" x 9" cel marked "24 A2end" featuring the affable Nobita Nobi and a purple gadget box. Cels each include 3-peg holes across the top edge. Accompanying the cels is an original 10.75" x 9.75" painted background rendered in gouache and acrylic featuring a grass yard and neighborhood houses. Originally a serialized gag-comic meant for younger audiences, Doraemon was first published in the long-running CoroCoro Comic, where it became a smash hit overnight. With humorous and bumbling time-traveling antics, the titular Doraemon is still beloved by audiences today, even becoming the first "anime ambassador" for the county of Japan in 2008. Cels and painted background display light production and handling wear with the Doraemon cel and background adhered together with 2-staples across the top edge. Comes with a COA issued by the owner of private collection.
