Description

Beetlejuice (Warner Bros., 1988), "Beetlejuice" Snake Lighting Stand-In Puppet. Original foam latex Beetlejuice snake hybrid model crafted from foam rubber with painted green body and yellow ridged snake stomach, diamond pattern on the back, built over a metal rod and culminating in an absurdly grotesque version of a snake/Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) hybrid head, complete with bulging bloodshot eyes, nose, fangs and wispy white hair on top. The flexible snake lighting stand-in is attached to a hollow metal tube that exhibits evidence of being mounted. Beetlejuice's snake form appears after the dinner scene, when Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) summons the titular bio-exorcist by saying his name three times, and Beetlejuice terrorizes the new residents in their home as a snake/ghost hybrid. This item was likely used to help light the distinctive Tim Burton stop motion sequence and is one of several models that would likely have been used to shoot the scene. The item measures approx. 22" long and 2.25" wide. Foam and paint elements exhibit minor cracking and paint rubbing from storage and use, and some hair is thinning at the forehead section. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
