Description

Buddy Holly and the Crickets Rare Early Black & White Band Photos (1957). Textured semi-gloss, gelatin silver, doubleweight paper, stamped "Jim Dallas Studio / 2207 - 34th / Lubbock, Texas" on the verso. Both photos measure 5"x7", and show a young Holly (sans glasses) on guitar, flanked by drummer Jerry Allison and bassist Joe B. Mauldin. Vintage original photos from this period of Holly's career are rare, and these show the band performing in June Clark's home in December, 1957. Very Good Plus condition, exhibiting tape remnants on the verso, minor folds at one corner of each photo, and light handling wear. Originally from the Santa Monica Museum of Rock Art. COA from Heritage Auctions.
