Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Paramount, 1979), Syd Mead Original V'Ger Concept Sketch. Original concept sketch accomplished in pencil, ink and artists' marker on 11" x 8.5" artists' vellum. Depicting the iconic V'Ger, a mysterious and immensely powerful alien cloud, revealed to be the lost 20th-century Earth space probe "Voyager", found by an alien race of living machines that upgrade the probe. On its journey the probe gathers so much knowledge it achieves consciousness, yet misunderstands its mission. The sketch highlights a section of the the multi-faceted, kaleidoscopic nature and vast intricacy of V'Ger's landscape surface. Signed at the lower right by the legendary visual futurist, designer and artist Syd Mead. Exhibits age and handling as well as pinholes at each corner. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
