Larry Rivers, "Performing for the Family" Poster (1983), Inscribed to Terry Southern and John Brockman Head Poster (1968). Pair of countercultural posters by two New York artists, including (1) a 39" x 25" aluminized mylar poster for the 1968 psychedelic film Head, designed by John Brockman-an artist associated with Andy Warhol's Factory-featuring a silkscreen image of his own head, and (1) a 16" x 22" collage print by Larry Rivers promoting his 1983 "Performing for Family" show at East Hampton Guild Hall, inscribed to Terry Southern, "For Terry Southern / close + brilliant / Larry Rivers," with the Rivers poster exhibiting creasing, edge wear, and bumped corners, and the Head poster showing tape remnants, extreme creasing, and wear, particularly at the top.
