Description

Super Friends Lunch Box & LE Maquettes (Aladdin/DC Direct, 1976-03). Leaping straight from Saturday morning nostalgia into collectible glory, this Super Friends lot, released by Aladdin in 1976 and DC Direct in 2003, brings together the timeless charm of classic animation with the craftsmanship of premium display pieces. Included is a vintage metal lunchbox and thermos set featuring colorful artwork of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, and Robin on one side, with Batgirl, Flash, and Green Arrow on the reverse. Classic villains such as Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, and Kitten are also featured, along with additional images of Supergirl, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Hawkman along the side panels. Accompanying this set are two limited edition maquettes: Batman, numbered 3411 out of 4000, depicted in his gray and blue costume in a stoic stance with hands at his sides atop a Super Friends oval base, and Robin, numbered 0117 out of 1500, shown in his red tunic, green gloves and boots, and signature yellow cape in a matching pose. Both statues are hand-painted and crafted from cold-cast porcelain, packaged in their original boxes secure in previously opened Styrofoam inserts. The lunchbox shows signs of age, including rust, paint chipping, and surface wear along the edges and corners, while the interior remains fairly clean with the metal thermos holder intact and some scuffing present. The thermos features discoloration on the white body with a purple lid and base. The statue boxes display handling wear including softened corners, light dents, and surface scuffing. This collection is a vibrant tribute to the golden age of animated heroes and a standout addition for any fan of the Super Friends legacy.
