Melisandre (Carice van Houten) Cloak Ensemble from Game of Thrones (HBO® Original 2011-2019, Season 3). Original (2) piece character cloak ensemble including (1) red chiffon dress with bell sleeves and (1) dark red paneled cloak with draped hood featuring pleated panels and seersucker effect. Bias labels in both the dress and cloak read "Melisandre" in black ink. Melisandre (Carice van Houten) is seen wearing this traveling cloak in Season 3, Episode 8, "Second Sons," when she returns to Dragonstone with Gendry (Joe Dempsie), Robert Baratheon's (Mark Addy) bastard son so she can perform a ritual using his royal blood. Costume designer Michele Clapton explained, "The traveling cloak was designed to maintain Melisandre's air of mystique and authority even during her journeys. The deep red color and flowing fabric emphasize her connection to the Lord of Light and her powerful presence." Carice van Houten commented, "Wearing this cloak in these scenes helped convey Melisandre's unwavering resolve and the gravity of her mission." Ensemble exhibits production wear.
