Audrey Meadows Personal Green Silk Dress. Vintage original De Mura brand knee-length long-sleeved emerald green silk dress, with front button closure, spread collar, wrist button closures, and breast pocket from the personal collection of Audrey Meadows. Retains internal maker's label and waist tie. Meadows was an American actress who gained popularity and was best known for her role as the deadpan, no nonsense housewife, Alice Kramden, on the 1950s sitcom program The Honeymooners, starring Jackie Gleason. Dress exhibits age and wear including some signs of discoloration and pulled threads to the silk. Provenance: Sotheby's, "Collector's Carrousel", June 12, 1999, Lot #231.
