STILL VERY MUCH IN HIS PRIME

Elvis Presley 1972 Albuquerque, NM Large Paper Concert Poster. An impressively sized Elvis Presley concert poster advertising a show at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Wednesday, April 19, 1972.

This was a 'tour blank' concert poster of a different nature. It's actually comprised of two different pieces, that of Elvis dynamically performing on stage and then the red informational strip with show details down below. There are light adhesive strips on both pieces to gently attach the red banner, which could be switched out to advertise any local show, of course. Barely any stickiness now remains after almost 50 years, but they could easily be put back together, especially for framing. We've photographed the components both together and separately to give you the best idea.

Notice the small letters down at the bottom of the full-color portion of the poster... "All Rights Reserved / All Star Shows." The latter was the name of Colonel Tom Parker's organization, the man in charge of all things Elvis, of course.

How did Elvis sound at this point? Well, just three weeks earlier he had recorded the red-hot "Burning Love" single in Hollywood, CA. So you could say... that he was on fire.

Overall the poster measures 22" x 35" and is in Very Good condition. The top of the color portion once got moist, and while there are no water stains or mildew, the paper has that 'waviness' texture of paper which has gotten wet and then dried out. It's not apparent looking straight-on, but can be felt and viewed at an angle to the light. COA from Heritage Auctions.
