THE WHO EXPLODED INTO FIRE AND LIGHT
Jimi Hendrix / Janis Joplin / The Who - 1967 Monterey Pop
Festival Poster (AOR-3.5). Original standard-sized Monterey Pop
poster designed by Tom Wilkes and printed on silver foil stock, to
both advertise and be sold at the seminal three-day festival on
June 16-18, 1967.For background info on the event itself, see our description in the preceding lot (the larger version of this poster).
This poster measures 12" x 21" and is graded Very Good Plus. COA from Heritage Auctions.
More Information: Has very slight dings to the bottom two corners, and a slight crease in the upper left corner area, one inch down. Other slight creases which are usually visible only when the poster is tilted in the light: upper left area, at the top of the "U" in "June"; in the silver around the woman's naval; and in the "T" of "Festival" in bottom right. And on the poster's verso, there are three remaining small pieces of white cloth framing tape. This item's in lovely overall shape that could easily be called Near Mint Minus. COA from Heritage Auctions.
