Description

M*A*S*H* (TCF TV, 1972-1983), Gary Burghoff "Radar" Knit Jeep Cap. Vintage original army green-colored knit wool beanie, also known as a jeep cap, as worn by Corporal Walter Eugene "Radar" O'Reilly (Gary Burghoff) in the long-running, widely beloved war comedy drama series M*A*S*H*, constructed of an army green woolen beanie hat with a plastic internal visor component. M*A*S*H* was a long-running and widely loved war comedy drama series that centered around a team of doctors and support staff stationed in South Korea during the Korean War. Radar, as played by Burghoff, was the only regular character played by a single actor between both the 1970 film and the show. He earned his nickname from his exceptionally good hearing and his ability to detect incoming helicopters before anyone else. His character was based on a real clerk who served in Korea alongside Richard Hornberger, the author of the original book that the franchise was based on. Exhibiting noticeable wear from age and production handling, most notably moth holes and breaches to the knit wool, signs of studio-repair, and with partial exposure of the visor plastic and cap. In fragile production-worn condition overall. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From The Stewart Berkowitz Television Treasures Collection.
