Batman Flying Batscout (Tarco, 1966) US Release. A true relic of high-flying Batman fun from the height of 1966 Bat-mania, this vintage Tarco Batman Flying Platform is a rare U.S. release that captures the quirky charm of superhero toy design from the era. Measuring 11 by 8.5 inches, the original carded version is exceptionally hard to find, especially in unused condition. This particular example features a blue Batman figure gripping the handlebars inside a matching blue basket, ready for takeoff atop a black spinner blade that includes a sticker reading "Batman Batscout." While similar versions were produced overseas, including in the UK, Japan, and Italy, this American edition shares its mold with the Italian release but none of the actual parts, making it a distinct and collectible variation. The colorful U.S. artwork spotlights Robin piloting the craft with a bold Batman portrait beneath, while the reverse side includes printed instructions on a plain brown back. The display card shows its age with edge and corner wear, bending and creasing at all four corners, and surface tears near the unpunched hanger tab and upper right area. The bottom edge has small dents, and there is noticeable warping to the backer card. A penned-in discounted price is written near the top, adding a touch of vintage retail charm. The bubble remains firmly sealed despite a few dents and a small hole behind the Batman figure. Inside, the toy itself is untouched, offering collectors a rare opportunity to own an unplayed piece of 1960s Batman history.
