Here's Lucy (Paramount TV, 1968-1974), Lucille Ball "Lucy Hinkley Carter" Blue Blazer and Skirt Ensemble. Vintage original (2) piece costume ensemble consisting of (1) periwinkle/royal blue-colored wool blend blazer with short standing collar, 4- banana yellow false buttons, 4- false button holes with white rectangular trim, 2- hip pockets, integral crème-colored silk blend cuffs, and integral blue bow snap closure, and (1) matching wool blend pleated skirt with hook-and-eye and zipper closure and integral crème-colored blouse, sewn in at the waistline, with hidden snap buttons and exaggerated pointed collar. This unique, distinctive costume most likely constructed by the wardrobe department was featured in the Season 3 opening episode, "Lucy Meets the Burtons", in which Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor guest starred in a storyline involving the couple's famed "Taylor-Burton Diamond", which becomes stuck on Ball's finger in the episode. Here's Lucy was Ball's third network sitcom, following the highly influential I Love Lucy (1951-1957) and The Lucy Show (1962-1968). This ensemble can also be seen featured on the cover of the September 1970 issue of TV Guide, with Burton and Taylor, prior to the third season's airing. Exhibiting production wear and handling including toning to the skirt and blouse commensurate with age. Buttons on the blazer have most likely been replaced at some point. Accompanied by a pair of black pumps and a faux diamond ring for display purposes. Additionally, Stewart took great pride in displaying his collection and had many custom-built mannequins in the likeness of the character made for his costumes. This lot includes one of those mannequins, which is in used and well-loved condition and will require special shipping. The option is yours if you would like to receive the mannequin.
