Description
Pacific Rim (Warner Bros., 2013), Production Maquette of Kaiju "Himantura". Production made maquette of "Himantura" one of the massive Kaiju beasts designed for the film by Simon Lee, who described it as a cross between a stingray and a switchblade. Arguably the most alien of the Kaiju, Himantura can fold up or expand its body open. Crafted of cast resin expertly painted by production artists in hues of blue, purple, green, and gray. Captivating to view from every angle. Though it did not ultimately appear in the film, Himantura is referenced as "Monster #1" in the book Pacific Rim: Man, Machines & Monsters by David S. Cohen. Maquette is mounted on a stand and measures 24.5" x 18" x 9" and rests on an 11" x 10" wooden base. Exhibits light wear to paint finish. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
