Description

King Kong (RKO, 1933), Skull Island Torch and Staff Props. Vintage original props including (1) torch constructed of lathed wooden handle, iron cone at top filled with fabric wired into the cone to represent ash, or to douse with kerosene for flame, and (1) ceremonial staff with handle crafted from wood and gauze material. The torch measures approx. 17.75" x 4" and staff measures approx. 14.5" x 3.5". Props were visible during the unforgettable sacrificial ceremony of Ann Darrow (Fay Wray) to the mighty Kong. The pieces exhibit production wear, minor chipping, rust and oxidation on iron components, and missing wood accents (on staff). Obtained from Christie's South Kensington, January 14, 1992. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
