Description
Batman (TCF TV, 1966-1968), Jill St. John "Molly" Robin Disguise Ensemble Signed by Burt Ward and Jill St. John. Vintage original (2) piece costume worn by Molly (Jill St. John) in the original Batman television series, consisting of (1) red gabardine tunic with black and yellow felt signature Robin's "R" patch to left breast, with yellow laces stitched down the center front through 12- rows of metal eyelets and hook-and-eye and zipper closures to back, and (1) yellow Lycra cape with collar and hook-and-eye fastener and retaining internal stamp labeled "20th Century Fox Men's Wardrobe" and handwritten "B. Ward #3" to inner collar. This ensemble appears early in the first season of the series, in Episode 2, "Smack in the Middle", in which Molly and the Riddler (Frank Gorshin) attempt to create a perfect disguise of Robin (Burt Ward) for Molly to use to trick Batman (Adam West). Given the inscription to the inside of the yellow cape, this part of St. John's costume can be presumed to have come directly from Ward's own Robin wardrobe for use during this episode. Cape is inscribed to lower interior by both St. John and Ward, with both showing signature and character name in quotations. Items exhibit expected production wear and age, including color fading and small tears to the tunic, and staining, soiling, and 1- 2" breach to the cape. Comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
