Lew Anderson "Clarabell the Clown" Vintage Red Nose and Clown Pate from The New Howdy Doody Show (NBC, 1976-1978). A pair of screen-used costume elements of Lew Anderson as "Clarabell the Clown". Included is the vintage painted red molded latex nose as well as rubber latex pate with distinctive orange hair and worn by Anderson. Lew Anderson was the third and last person to play the seltzer-bottle wielding Clarabell, from 1954 until the series' final episode on September 24, 1960, then again by him in the revival series, The New Howdy Doody Show (1976), as well as It's Howdy Doody Time (1987), a star-studded special that celebrated Howdy Doody's 40th birthday. Acquired from Lew Anderson. Both pieces exhibit wear to the Latex, especially along the pate's forehead, but remain in Very Good condition, as production used. Acquired from Mr. Lew Anderson.
