The Beatles - Signed Astrid Kirchherr Large Format Photograph of John Lennon, "Black Portrait 1" (Hamburg, 1962). John was the Beatle closest to Stuart Sutcliffe - they'd met at Liverpool College of Art and soon became best mates. Stuart passed away unexpectedly on April 10th, 1962.

This beautiful, somber portrait was taken by Astrid Kirchherr in the attic of her parents' house in December of 1962. It was also the attic where Stuart would paint. The Beatles were on their final stint playing the Star Club, and of course, visited their friend Astrid.

She has boldly signed at lower left in black marker. A striking large print, the image measuring approx: 16.5" by 21". Overall approx: size of 24.5" by 34". Limited to 1,200 signed copies.

This captured a moment in time right before John's life was about to change again. Will mat up and display well.
