Description

Ack-Ack Toy .50 Caliber Machine Gun Replica with Original Box (Maco, 1950s). This Ack-Ack toy machine gun was produced by Maco during the 1950s, a period when large-scale, mechanically driven toy weapons were a prominent part of American toy manufacturing. Styled after the .50 caliber machine gun, the piece was designed as a pellet-firing toy and constructed with substantial components to emphasize scale and realism. This example appears complete, retaining the original tripod, barrel, pellets, and instruction sheet, elements that are often missing when these sets survive. Examples with the original box and full complement of parts offer a clear view into how Maco positioned the piece as a premium, action-oriented play item during the postwar era. The box shows moderate wear, including scuffing and denting along the edges and moderate scuffing and crushing at the corners. The box face exhibits moderate scuffing, creasing, and areas of discoloration. The contents appear mostly unused and are housed in an open box, with wear consistent with age and long-term storage. This item is untested, and no guarantee can be made regarding its working condition. A strong surviving example of 1950s mechanical toy weapon design, this Ack-Ack machine gun remains a substantial and visually striking artifact from the era's emphasis on scale, action, and presentation.
