Description
The Wolf Man (Universal, 1941). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41"). "Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms, and the autumn moon is bright." This was the last of the great Universal horror monsters to be introduced in the decade of the forties, and it is still one of the most atmospheric of that studio's output, making Lon Chaney Jr. a star. The great Jack Pierce makeup and wonderful supporting cast makes this a true classic. The poster has been expertly restored with touchup to the lower horizontal fold and slight chipping in the Evelyn Ankers image's chest and touchup to the Lugosi title. There were some small chips in the main title, which has been touched up as well as separation in the upper cross fold within Chaney's face. There was a tear in the upper left corner. All of the poster was present and the restoration work done was excellent. The borders have been airbrushed. It has been some 18 years since Heritage has offered a copy of this rare poster and it could be longer until we see another.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
