Description

Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Submarine Gun - Loose (Remco, 1966). Irwin Allen's Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea made waves as one of the 1960s' most imaginative television adventures, combining Cold War intrigue with undersea monsters and futuristic naval technology. Remco, never one to miss a licensing opportunity, brought the series to toy shelves with inventive role-play items like this battery-operated Submarine Gun. Designed in bright blue and orange plastic, the toy featured sci-fi stylings with an extending barrel and sound/light effects that allowed kids to take command of the Seaview's arsenal against aquatic threats. The offered example is loose, showing significant wear from age and play. The side decal retains strong color but has areas of peeling and surface loss. The plastic body exhibits scratches, discoloration, and a notable crack near the battery housing. The battery compartment shows oxidation and interior wear consistent with use. See images for further condition details. Items are sold as is. An uncommon survivor from Remco's line of licensed TV tie-in toys, this Submarine Gun embodies the era's fascination with atomic-age adventure and underwater exploration. For collectors of 1960s sci-fi television memorabilia, it remains a standout relic from one of Allen's most enduring cult classics.
