Description

Forbidden Planet (MGM, 1956). Very Fine+. Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). MGM's monumental effort to add "prestige" to the science fiction genre came in this picture about a rescue mission sent to Altair-4. It's a colony with only two survivors (a scientist and his daughter). The rescuers are soon surprised to find them surviving very well, with the assistance of a robot and all the knowledge of an ancient alien race, the Krells. The scene cards show some of the film's best moments, including stars Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, Leslie Nielsen, and the most incredible robot on the screen, Robby. This is a beautiful and pristine set. The only wear is card #8, which has minor edge wear and a name penned on the verso.
