1952/1954 Fender Telecaster Butterscotch Blonde Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #2948.
Refinished 1952 Fender Black Guard Telecaster with a body dated 1954. The neck date is 11-13-52 TG, while the body date is partially illegible but appears to be 5/54. The body has been sanded and refinished in polyurethane, with the scroll in the cutaway smoothed out.
The electronics appear correct, but pot dates are soldered over. The pickguard is a reproduction, and the knobs and switch are replacements. The neck has overspray and has been refretted with large frets. The double-layer decal, round string tree, and no-line Kluson tuners remain period-correct. Comes in an aged reproduction Tweed Thermometer-style case.
