1968 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #899585.
1968 Gibson Les Paul "Black Beauty" "Fretless Wonder" Custom. Early 1968 Gibson reissue of the Les Paul Custom. All-original except for the replaced strap buttons and the repaired jack plate. The pickup covers have been removed. Pots date to the 40th week of 1961 and the pickups are Patent # decals. The back panel covers are brown plastic, as usually seen on Gold Tops. The original frets show minimal wear but it is a Fretless Wonder, Black Beauty instrument. This guitar was featured in Premier Guitar Magazine on February 10th, 2012. It was one of the first three Les Paul Customs shipped in August 1968. It is believed to be one of the first three Custom reissues that was on display at the 1968 NAMM show. 10.1lbs. Original hard case included. Condition: Good.
