King Of The Cowboys

1997 Greg Rich Limited Edition Roy Rogers "King of the Cowboys" Prototype Acoustic Guitar.
Originally brought to the market place by Dream Guitars and Apparel Inc. and introduced in March of 1998 at the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Museum. . The Roy Rogers "King of the Cowboys" and The Dale Evans "Queen of the West" were built by Greg Rich and Mark Taylor. Artist and luthier Greg Rich is renown for his work at Gibson. With 50+ years of experience, some of the top celebrities and artist in the world call on Rich's expertise when they want a custom, world-class instrument. Greg does an extraordinary job of blending fine guitar craftmanship with an artist bow to the television legend "King of the Cowboys" Roy Rogers. The combination of flashy decoration and fine art painting has created an eye-catching memorial and stunning reminder of Saturday morning television.
The plan was to make 50 of each guitar and Roy Rogers and Dale Evans would hand sign each of them. Once Roy Rogers passed, they only made 6 of his guitars. This is the prototype, as indicated on the inside label and the only one signed by both Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.
This guitar is hand-painted and features a Jumbo-style body with hand selected maple for the back and sides. A spruce top with forward X bracing. 24k gold plated hardware and special sparkle binding on the body, fingerboard and headstock.
Signed and inscribed on the back of the guitar by Dale Evans "To Rogers/God Loves You/Dale Evans". Roy Rogers is said to have called the Roy Rogers King of the Cowboys guitar "The prettiest guitar I've ever seen"
Photos of Dale signing this guitar are included.
