Description

Duke Ellington 1963 Carnegie Hall, New York City Concert Handbill. An original paper handout flyer for the granddaddy of them all, Duke Ellington and His Famous Orchestra, performing within the hallowed walls of Carnegie Hall in New York, New York on both Saturday and Sunday evenings, November 23 & 24, 1963. As befits Carnegie Hall, this handbill has a snappy design and a delightful photo of Edward Kennedy Ellington at the piano. The William Morris Agency is plugged at the bottom as his management.

This first-ever Heritage offering measures 6 1/2" x 9 1/8" and grades to Near Mint condition, for only a half-inch diagonal crease in the upper left corner, which comes nowhere near the orange. COA from Heritage Auctions.
