Duke Ellington, Maynard Ferguson Birdland, New York City Jazz Handbill. An original purple-and-white handout flyer from the legendary Birdland jazz nightclub in New York, New York for a couple of spring residencies in an undetermined year.

First up was Maynard Ferguson and the Birdland Dream Band plus Julian "Cannonball" Adderley and his Quintet for a two-week stand spanning April 4 thru 17. That was followed immediately by a Gala Easter Show hosted by big-band godfather Duke Ellington and His World Famous Orchestra, also running for two weeks.

This first-ever Heritage offering measures 6 1/8" x 9" and grades to Very Good Plus condition, with a small bump-crease to the upper left corner (doesn't break the purple color), an extremely minor blemish in the white under "JU" of the phone number, and "25-" written very lightly in pencil to the right of that.
