R.E.M. 1982 Chronic Town Promo Poster. A promo poster for R.E.M.'s debut EP and their first release for IRS Records. After a successful independent release of their "Radio Free Europe" single, the Athens, GA-based band was ready for an extended play before they unleashed a full length.

The band had many gigs under their belt, performing numerous originals and covers they would later release. These five Mitch Easter-produced songs were pressed on a 12-inch vinyl, helping spread the word on this band. They were inspired by punk and post-punk, but they didn't sound like a copycat. They created a fresh sound, blending harmonies, quick drums, clean guitars, and subdued vocals.

Following Chronic Town, the Murmur LP was released, and the band's fortunes changed forever. But this change didn't happen overnight.

Measures 19 ¼" x 27". In Very Good condition with creasing and bending in various spots, pin holes in the corners, toning on the verso, and scratches/scuffs along the right side. COA from Heritage Auctions.
