Description
The Beatles "She Said So"/"I Feel Fine" Original Art Cel No. 72 for The World's First Music Video by John Lennon and Stephen Verona,1966. John Lennon met filmmaker Stephen Verona at a London nightclub in 1966. What came after their initial conversation was quoted: "The world's first rock music video." John sent Stephen a copy of the Beatles' new record. The groundbreaking recording sounded like "She Said So" then "I Feel Fine." So Stephen had a new name for the project. He created drawings trying to fit the music and compliment the lyrics. When John visited him at his apartment both of them worked through the night discussing and coloring in the cartoon images. The 2 1/2 minute film comprised of 240 hand colored cels and was in essence the birth of the music video before the term was even created. Here we have Pen and Ink on Paper, Cel #72. Artwork in mat measuring approx: 9" by 12" in Near Mint condition. Framed to approx: 18 1/4" by 21". Frame is in Very Good Plus condition with some scratches, Paint loss, nicks, and scuffs. Rare and seldom seen. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
