The Rolling Stones Collection of Knebworth UK Promotional Concert Items Including Program, Handbill and Tickets (1976). Group of promotional items for the Rolling Stones' headline UK festival appearance at Knebworth Fair on August 21, 1976. Also on the bill were Lynyrd Skynyrd, 10cc, Hot Tuna, and more. Including (1) large red fabric flag with rope to the top corners, measuring approx. 34.5" x 50.5" unfurled, featuring a juggling circus figure and "Knebworth Fair / Saturday August 21st"; (1) "Stoned at Knebworth" fabric sheet emblazoned with the Rolling Stones tongue logo, measuring approx. 14" x 15.25"; (1) 1976 Knebworth Fair official program with green and pink design, containing advertisements, details, and images of the Rolling Stones and other acts, measuring 8" x 12"; (1) 1976 Knebworth Fair flyer with blue and pink design, measuring 8.5" x 10.5" with additional event details printed to verso; (1) promotional paper face mask of the Rolling Stones tongue, "The Rolling Stones" and "Knebworth Fair August '76" printed to either side, measuring 9" x 7.5" flat; and (3) tickets or stubs for the same event, tickets measuring 4.75" x 3". In Rolling Stones 50, the band recalled that "We went on stage about four hours late, after Lynyrd Skynyrd and Todd Rundgren, because someone had messed with the cables. We played for over two hours and finished around 2am." Literature: The Rolling Stones 50, 2012, p. 265 (handbill and program illustrated). Each exhibits light handling or wear consistent with age and use, including light toning and foxing to the face mask, fold line to flyer, and wear and tape wear to tickets.
