The Rolling Stones 'Platinum' Disc Award for the 1975 Album Rolled Gold. Award commemorating UK sales of more than 300,000 copies of the compilation album Rolled Gold. The British award measuring 16" x 20" overall, likely an in-house presentation award, with a 12" 'Platinum' disc with Decca label, the matrix inscribed 'AMLH - 64792-A6' and 'tone'; plaque detailing the band, album, and achievement, the award framed and glazed. A contentious release in the history of the band, Rolled Gold was released by Decca Records in 1975 and was a firm top 10 hit in the UK charts. By this time, the Rolling Stones had recorded under their own label (simply Rolling Stones Records) for 5 years. This record was therefore released by their former label without the band's approval. Irrespective of this controversy between artist and label, the double-album was an enduring hit with fans in the UK. Exhibits light scratches to the glazing and frame.
