In 1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Admiral Kirk, with the assistance of the Enterprise crew, must stop an old nemesis, Khan Noonien Singh, from using the life-generating Genesis Device as the ultimate weapon. Ricardo Montalban's Khan had originally appeared as a villain in a 1967 episode of Star Trek original series, where he was exiled for 15 years. Often credited as being the best film in the Star Trek series, Wrath of Khan was both a critical and box office success.
