Description

Janis Joplin/Big Brother, Steve Miller 1967 S.F. Peace Benefit Concert Poster. An original first-printing San Francisco concert poster advertising a benefit show at Steninger Auditorium at UCSF (University of California, San Francisco) on Saturday evening, March 4, 1967.

The Steve Miller Blues Band gets top billing, Big Brother and the Holding Company (with Janis Joplin of course) are right under them and both bands are pictured, in somewhat distorted, psychedelic form. Robert Baker is the third-billed musician who gets mentioned right above the date and time. The poster artist is credited simply as "Krefting," and the affair was dubbed "Journey to the End of Night" in nice dark-pink lettering.

Measures 13 3/4" x 18 3/4" and grades to Near Mint condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
