Description

BG-121 The Yardbirds 1968 Fillmore Auditorium Concert Poster Graded 9.0. First-and-only printing San Francisco concert poster for the Yardbirds with Jimmy Page, It's a Beautiful Day and Cecil Taylor playing at the Fillmore Auditorium on Thursday through Saturday nights, May 23-25, 1968. Known as BG-121 in the Bill Graham numbered series, this poster was graded to 9.0 Very Fine/Near Mint by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company).

The Yardbirds were nearing the end of their five-year run, with Page preparing his new group which would start off as the New Yardbirds in September, quickly morphing into Led Zeppelin within a short period. The crowd may have been there to hear "For Your Love," "Heart Full of Soul," "Shapes of Things" and "Over Under Sideways Down," but Page was undoubtedly anxious by this point to put the 'Birds behind him and move on to something new. The world is glad he did.

Measures 14" x 21 1/8". From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
