Description
Anna Q. Nilsson 13.5" x 10.25" Autographed Portrait (ca. 1910s). Vintage original 13.5" x 10.25" portrait of silent film star Anna Q. Nilsson on double-weight paper, inscribed by the actress to Hal Mohr with the message, "To Hal Mohr, to the man that made me beautiful. Thanks. Anna Q." The photograph was inscribed and signed to Hal Mohr, who twice received the Academy Award for Best Cinematography: A Midsummer Night's Dream, 1935, and Phantom of the Opera, 1943, (color). Hal Mohr was the cinematographer for Vanity's Price, 1924 silent film (lost) starring Anna Q. Nilsson. Nilsson was named the "most beautiful woman in the world" in 1907, which was her gateway from modeling into the world of silent cinema. Mohr's name, in addition to cropping instructions in graphite, are on the verso. Exhibits age, fading with minor chipping on the lower edge and top left corner, and additional adhesive along the edge of the verso. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Allow 6-8 weeks forLOA delivery.
