Description

The Godfather Part III (Paramount, 1990), Extremely Rare Assortment of (50+) Behind-the-Scenes Photos, Press Materials, and Ephemera. As a producer on The Godfather Part III, Fred Roos had exclusive access to behind-the-scenes photography and internal studio materials documenting the long-awaited conclusion to Francis Ford Coppola's legendary trilogy. Offered here is an extraordinary and rare archive of (50+) original behind-the-scenes photographs, press materials, and related ephemera from the production, including glossy 8" x 10" photographic prints, most with photographer's stamps or handwritten numbering on the verso, capturing candid and intimate moments from the set. The collection features principal cast members Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Eli Wallach, Sofia Coppola, and Andy Garcia. Highlights include Francis Ford Coppola in conversation with Pacino and Garcia before a take, a formal Corleone "Family Portrait" posed on a grand staircase, and black-and-white photos of Coppola directing a tense boardroom scene, reflecting his hands-on creative process. Also included are original studio press materials related to the film's release and awards campaign, as well as Fred Roos' personal invitation to the Academy Awards Governor's Ball, issued in conjunction with the film's Oscar nominations. Additional ephemera rounds out this carefully preserved archive, offering a rich visual and documentary record of the production. Photographs exhibit expected signs of use and age, including light surface wear, corner bumping, and occasional creasing. A small number of modern inkjet reproductions are present but have not been included in the official count. A rare behind-the-scenes archive from the final chapter of one of cinema's most iconic trilogies, sourced directly from one of its most pivotal creative forces. Items exhibit edgewear, creasing with some exhibiting pinholes. The poster image is for reference only and is not included with this lot. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions. From the Estate of Fred Roos.
