In the film, Chance (Peter Sellers) is struck by a limousine driving the wealthy Eve Rand (Shirley MacLaine), who takes Chance home so he may recover. His outdated mannerisms and finely tailored clothing are a point of curiosity to those Chance meets throughout the film on his way from quiet gardener to political figurehead. This beloved and poignant film by New Hollywood director Hal Ashby puts Seller's range on full display. Items exhibit some signs of production wear and age, including minor pulled threads and a 2" breach to the right leg above the knee.
