Description

Fawlty Towers (BBC TWO, 1975-1979), Production Clapperboard. Original wooden clapperboard with traditional metal hinge and black and white interleaved clapper stick atop a slate. Face of the slate reads, "PROD. FAWLTY TOWERS" with "DIRECTOR B. SPIERS" and empty "CAMERMAN", "SLATE", and "TAKE" boxes and white tape along the lower third handwritten, "EXT /DAY". Reverse of slate retains white BBC sticker with black lettering taped to the lower left-hand side. Measures 15" x 13.5". Used during production of the John Cleese and Connie Booth written comedy about the dysfunctional staff of an English seaside hotel. Exhibits production and handling wear, with chalk remnants across both sides and peeling to aged tape. The poster image is for reference only and is not included with this lot.
