Star Trek: The Original Series (Paramount, 1966-1969), Matt Jefferies Original Early Concept Sketch for USS Enterprise. Vintage original early concept sketch accomplished in brown felt-tip by Matt Jefferies on 11" x 8.5" artist's leaf for the USS Enterprise. Notably, the secondary hull is mounted to the top of the central hull, differing from the final version of the design where the secondary hull and both nacelles are affixed beneath the central hull. This simple and unembellished sketch illustrates Jefferies' process of fine-tuning the Enterprise into the immediately recognizable spacecraft it would later become. Signed on the bottom corner with handwritten "225" on verso. Exhibiting mild foxing and age. Provenance: Profiles in History, "The Star Trek Auction", December 12, 2001, Lot #37.
