Putnam's Sons, 1969/Paramount, 1972) In 1972, Francis Ford Copolla's crime family movie drama The Godfather propelled nearly all associated with it into the stratosphere of stardom. Most often, a brilliant movie begins with brilliant literature and that is the case here. This is a 9th edition printing of the bestselling Mario Puzo book The Godfather, that started it all. The 6 x 8.75 hardcover novel has been signed on the interior 1st page endpaper by actors, "Robert Duvall", "Al Pacino", "Marlon Brando" and Richard Bright". The Bright signature is dated 2005 and the Brando autograph was given in 1989 while filming The Freshman. The dust jacket remains in a protective sleeve and exhibits only minor cracks on the upper and lower paper spine. The book itself and contents remain in very good to fine vintage condition.
