Description

Kiss 1977 Rock N Roll Over Era Des Moines, IA Concert Poster. An original, rare midwestern concert poster for Kiss at their peak playing at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium, with Uriah Heep as opening act, on Friday night, January 21, 1977. This dynamic 'swirly' artwork also appeared on the band's Duluth, MN concert poster from this tour, but there are several examples of that poster known; this is the only known copy of the Des Moines version, which must have been printed in very small numbers. Thus, a first-ever Heritage offering.

We love the way the promoter's name is Celebration, and how it's given in big letters at the top... it reminded punters that the show itself was a celebration, too. And they weren't just putting on a show for locals, they were "Proud" to be doing so.

Members of the Kiss Army wanted the best, and they got it during this era of the band. Before drama ripped apart Kiss and alliances were permanently strained, you had the glory years of 1976-1977 tours and albums. For this show, the band was on tour behind their newly-released studio LP, Rock N Roll Over, featuring the cuts "Hard Luck Woman" and "Calling Dr. Love." The Vets hall was the perfect place in Iowa for the New York band to play their tunes and their over-the-top theatrics. Measures 15 ½" x 25 ¼". In Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Has toning throughout, creasing, fold marks, bumps/loss in the corners, and foxing on the verso.
