Elton John 1971 Atlanta, GA "New Sensation" Concert Poster. An original and delightful thick-paper concert poster advertising "New Sensation" Elton John appearing at the Municipal Auditorium in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday night, June 8, 1971. This red, beige & blue poster is highlighted by about the best head shot and best action shot you could ever ask for on Elton.

At this point the world knew Elton primarily through "Your Song," a Top 10 hit earlier in the year. His second Top 10 hit, "Rocket Man," was still another year away. And Elton's Top 5 album Tumbleweed Connection was also riding the charts. This first-ever Heritage offering measures 13 3/4" x 22 1/4" and grades to Very Good Minus condition. More Information: The poster's primary damage is along the top edge, which has an uneven trim to it but no lettering is lost. There's also scribbling in blue & red pen in the upper right corner. The poster was once folded horizontally, but the crease harmless falls right below "First Atlanta Appearance." The poster's right edge all the way down also has a slight uneven trim. Signs of "frame burn" from a mat are evident along the left and bottom margins, which may have been what was trimmed away from the other two margins. On the verso, light staining, a tape lift and some remaining white tape are present.
