Description

BG-230 Pink Floyd 1970 Fillmore West Concert Poster Graded 9.6. First-and-only-printing San Francisco concert poster for the mighty Pink Floyd playing at the Fillmore West on Wednesday evening, April 29, 1970. Designed by Pat Hanks and known as BG-230 (with no letter) in the Bill Graham numbered series, this poster is not to be confused with BG-230A, which has the same artwork but advertised another Floyd gig at the Fillmore West six months later.

What sets this poster apart from most psychedelic BG's is the centerpiece picture of the band's voluminous stage equipment. Floyd was touring off their Ummagumma album, a Top 5 seller in their native U.K. but slower to break through in America. Measures 14" x 22" and graded to a cosmic 9.6 Near Mint Plus by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company). From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
