Description

Elvis Presley 1972 Albuquerque, NM Large Concert Poster. An impressively sized Elvis Presley concert poster advertising a show at the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Wednesday, April 19, 1972. How did Elvis sound at this point? Well, just three weeks earlier he had recorded the red-hot "Burning Love" single in Hollywood, CA. So you could say that... he was on fire. Notice the small letters down at the bottom of the full-color portion of the poster... "All Rights Reserved / All Star Shows." The latter was the name of Colonel Tom Parker's organization. Measures 22" x 35 1/2" and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: This was a 'tour blank' concert poster of a different nature. It's actually comprised of two different pieces, that of Elvis dynamically performing on stage and then the red informational strip with show details down below. There are light adhesive strips on both pieces to gently attach the red banner, which could be switched out to advertise any local show, of course. On this specimen, the two pieces are now very securely attached; they had become detached, but Heritage re-secured them in-house. So the front and verso of the poster are all still 100% from 1972.

Condition details: The poster's right edge has crumpling that goes from the top to about the halfway-down point. The lower right corner, of the red venue box, has a ½" diagonal corner crease which does break the red color, although in a very small way.
