Description

NR-23 Steve Miller 1968 Capitol Records Neon Rose Promo Poster Signed by Victor Moscoso, Graded 8.5. An original first-and-only printing Neon Rose poster, designed by Victor Moscoso and signed by him in the bottom center, advertising the Steve Miller Band's debut album Children of the Future, released in spring 1968 on Capitol Records. Since promo posters were saved much less than concert posters, this scarce piece turns up only once every few years - and usually in lousy condition. Measuring a nice-sized 22 1/8" x 28", this poster has been graded to 8.5 Very Fine Plus by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company). CGC has graded only one other of these, and that one's a 6.5. COA from Heritage Auctions.

Literature: King, Eric, The Collector's Guide to Psychedelic Rock Concert Posters, Postcards and Handbills 1965-1973, Vol. 12, Berkeley, CA, 2022, p.812 (illus.).

More Information: If Moscoso's imagery looks familiar, he used a very similar human-with-multiple-colored-wings technique on his FD-61 concert poster, "Butterfly Lady," a year before this (in spring 1967).
