BG-68 The Who, "Jim" Hendrix 1967 Fillmore Concert Poster Graded 9.8. First-printing San Francisco concert poster for The Who and the Loading Zone playing at the Fillmore Auditorium on Friday and Saturday nights, June 16 & 17, 1967, the very same weekend the Monterey Pop Festival was happening two hours to the south. Thus, Pete Townshend & Co. went down on Sunday and did their incendiary Monterey set that evening. Known as BG-68 in the Bill Graham numbered series, this poster was designed by Bonnie MacLean and has been graded a super-stellar 9.8 Near Mint/Mint by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company). More Information: This poster also has the very unusual feature of previewing the following week's bands, and among them is the third-billed "Jim [sic] Hendrix," literally the last words on the poster. When this was printed, Jimi was a nobody; after Sunday evening June 18, he was a star (that's right, on the same night as The Who at Monterey). And then the following Tuesday-Saturday Hendrix played for Bill Graham (BG-69 poster, third-billed, but this time spelled correctly).
